Course Overview
This information filled training session will provide those social housing colleagues who are responsible for the delivery of a lift servicing and maintenance provision, including passenger lifts, hoists, step-lifts, through-floor, lifts, platform lifts and stairlifts with all of the information that they need to not only understand legislative standards and guidance, but also ensure the delivery of their provision aligns with best practice requirements of the Health & Safety Executive (HSE).
This course will be held ‘Live Online’ on 28th October 2026, from 9.30am – 12.00pm (times are estimates and will depend on the interaction of delegates throughout).

What’s Covered?
This training sessions provides all of the information you require to manage lift safety in your organisation and includes a look at the following aspects of the provision:
- A brief overview of the relevant regulations and legislative requirements for lift safety
- Duties on lift owners
- The types of lifting equipment that should be maintained and the frequency for doing so
- Servicing/Maintenance
- Thorough examinations (including records and what to check upon receipt)
- Competent contractors
- Dealing with defects and actions from either servicing or thorough examination
- Maintaining effective records for lift assets.
- Plant / Equipment not available
- LG1 – supplementary tests
- Record keeping
Learning Outcomes
This virtual training session is delivered ‘live’ by our knowledgeable and professional trainer and is interactive, encouraging delegate participation, to ensure skills learnt will be able to be confidently applied in practice; there will be ample time for delegates to ask questions throughout the session.
Learners will leave the session with a basic knowledge of relevant regulations, legislative responsibilities and requirements for the lift safety provision within their organisation and how they can manage this effectively and maintain robust records.
Certification: An e-certificate of attendance and emailed copy of the slide presentation in a handy note format will be provided for all delegates who attended the session.
