Course Overview
This course has been designed to provide an understanding of asbestos inspections and explain the differences in the two recognised algorithms and how these relate to overall risk.
The course will clarify the importance of accurate reporting, suggest how to record items that are potential ACMs, explain the limitations of ‘presumptive’ inspection and provide an understanding of the surrounding legislation.
Delegates will also be supported in creating an asbestos hazard report if required.

- Non-Asbestos Hazards to consider during assessment and safe inspection regime.
NB: This course will not cover sampling processes, which in accordance with legislation (Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 Regulation 3(2)) is classified as non-licensed work with asbestos.
Learning Outcomes
This course will:
- Provide people with an understanding of the undertaking of asbestos inspections
- Explain the differences in the 2 recognised algorithms and how these relate to overall risk
- Suggest how to record items that are potential (and thus presumed) ACMs
- Clarify the importance of accurate reporting
- Provide an understanding of legislation surrounding all of the above
- Support delegates in creating an asbestos hazard report if required
- Clarify and explain the limitations of “presumptive” inspection.
