Course Overview
This half-day information filled training session is aimed at colleagues operating within the social housing sector at any level, including customer contact staff, maintenance and property colleagues and anyone who requires a good level of non-technical awareness training.
Covering all aspects from the hazards and risks associated with gas burning appliances, legislation including Gas Safe registration and access requirements, this session provides sufficient information to give colleagues the confidence to identify and act upon situations that they may encounter when talking to tenants on the telephone or visiting customers in their home.
This course will be held ‘Live Online’ on 16th September 2026, starting at 9.30am and finishing at 1.00pm.

What’s Covered?
This training sessions provides all of the information to enable you to get a good level of non-technical awareness training, delivered by our Gas Safe registered associate; it provides:
- A brief overview of natural gas and who is involved in the pipelines and infrastructure
- Hazards and risks associated with gas burning appliances and emergency situations (CO and gas leaks)
- An overview of the overarching legislation and gas regulations
- A brief overview of Unsafe Situations and Defects classified At Risk (AR) and Immediately Dangerous (ID)
- The Gas Safe Register and importance of using competent engineers
- LGSR/CP12 – Content, accuracy and record keeping
- Void properties – Gas safety checks between tenancies
- Identifying gas tampering and gas theft
Learning Outcomes
This virtual training session is delivered ‘live’ by our knowledgeable and professional Gas Safe registered associate and trainer; it is interactive, encouraging delegate participation, to ensure skills learnt will be able to be confidently applied in practice. There will be ample time for delegates to ask questions throughout the session.
Learners will leave the session with a good non-technical awareness of relevant regulations, legislative responsibilities and a raft of other useful information to equip them in their day to day role, whether that’s out visiting customers, supporting the gas safety programme and managing the record keeping or fielding calls in the contact centre.
Certification: An e-certificate of attendance and emailed copy of the slide presentation in a handy note format will be provided for all delegates who attended the session.
