Course Overview
Asbestos surveys are an essential part of an organisation’s asbestos management ‘toolkit’. The aim of this session is to improve knowledge and awareness of the contents of an asbestos survey, the caveats that may be included and what you should do now that you have the information.
As part of the training, delegates will review a typical example of an asbestos survey (they can also bring their own along to the training) to understand the contents including how to identify key requirements, review asbestos sample findings and any drawings, discuss material and priority scores and identify what next steps are required to manage any asbestos that has been identified.

This session is relevant to organisations operating in the social housing sector and provides a basic overview of asbestos survey reports, including a look at the following:
- What to expect from a survey report
- What is a ‘caveat’ and what does it mean in a survey report
- Interpreting the survey contents and understanding the report
- Some common issues with completed reports
- Now what – how do we use the reports
Learning Outcomes
This virtual training session is delivered ‘live’ by our knowledgeable and professional trainer and is interactive; encouraging discussion and delegate participation to ensure skills learnt will be able to be confidently applied in practice; there will be ample time for delegates to ask questions throughout the session.
Delegates will broaden their knowledge and understanding of asbestos surveys as well as being able to interpret key aspects of the report and know what next steps need to be taken with information provided in the report as part of the organisations overall asbestos management programme.
Certification: An e-certificate of attendance will be provided for attendees.
This training course is designed to raise your awareness of asbestos and the materials it can be found in. The knowledge you gain from this training will aid in preventing you from accidentally disturbing asbestos and exposing yourself and others to asbestos fibres.
This course provides basic information relating to how asbestos should be managed within the workplace and detail the possible health effects that are associated with asbestos exposure.
This level of training DOES NOT provide you with the knowledge or skills to undertake any work with asbestos containing materials.
